I had purchased a Lenovo Yoga early It only has 1 usb port so I purchased a 4 port USB hub so I could increase my number of ports a second screen and hardline to ethernet. Downloaded all the proper drivers googled the heck out of it and came up empty. I purchased a new one. When I plugged this in, the computer responded, but it showed the device not recognized the last USB you plugged in malfunctioned and Windows did not recognize it.
By sheer frustration, i went to my desk and plugged in my USB hub. Has anyone come across this before? Why does this device work fine when plugged into the USB hub and fails miserably when directly plugged into the USB port? I will admit I had to make some changes to get the USB hub to work, but I can't remember what was done. I've got no problem using the hub while I train, but I just don't understand what's going on. May I know the model of the Lenovo Yoga that you are using? What is the BIOS version of the laptop? This issue could be caused when the system is not able to detect the USB connected to a single hub, or could also be an issue with USB 2.
Try to disable any antivirus program you have on the computer and try to next step. As you are connecting multiple USB to a single hub, you can try the troubleshooting USB devices may stop functioning correctly wh e n multiple devices connected to th e same USB hub go into selective suspend.

Edit: just checked, all three drivers are exactly the same. Same date, same underlying files. The first one usually happens near the 1h30m mark and the other, if it happens, comes later past the 2hr mark.
They are long enough to cause me to get shot out the back when riding in a pack or lose credit for an interval during an erg workout. Even though the dropouts only last a few seconds at most.
Even though the dropout is on the order of a few seconds, the time it takes to establish erg mode lengthens that time to about 10 seconds. When being dropped from a pack due to a momentary dropout, there is no hope of regaining that pack. They are gone.
I have been riding on zwift for years and have never experienced this. No joy. Still experiencing 1 to 2 dropouts per ride of over 90 minutes. Thanks so much!
